FREELANCE WORK
WePak is a local Austin custom package design company. Through them, I have worked on logos and package designs for companies such as Calyx Containers, Granny G's, T&T Roots, and Sweet Sensi, among others.

T&T Roots
A family-based farm in Pollok, TX, eager to provide East Texas and surrounding areas with all-Natural Relief products. They want to bring healing and comfort to customers with the most natural ingredients. This market is starting to widen, and they are excited to see states open their doors to the cannabis plant, but they are more excited about T&T Roots bringing it to customers farmed and manufactured safely and effectively. Customers need to research what they are ingesting and using topically when it comes to CBD or pharmaceutical drugs. T&T Roots is family-owned and operated for this very reason; they want to produce a potent plant organically that will be shared with natural and other effective ingredients to bring everyone true relief with no harsh side effects. Farm-to-hand, trust is their top priority.
I was provided a 5"x7"x3" dieline, along with several inspiration references:

CLIENT REQUESTS
The client wanted to incorporate as many flowers/animals as possible, very similar to the Cottonmouth picture, in a southern antique style like the "gin" example. The pictures provided were also in reference to the outlines or borders preferred by the client, with the "Cottonmouth" picture for the flower reference specifically.
The client had labels that had been made before (labels were sent to me directly) and I was told to imitate the fonts utilized on them within the new design.
The client wanted a custom window on the bag, as well.
The client wanted to keep an "old school" theme and incorporate aspects of Texas, including an "old medicine jar look."
In addition, there needed to be some peach coloring incorporated, but keep the background color of the bag black.
FRONT LABEL
- Hummingbird feeding on a hibiscus flower
- Flowers to the sides and some coming out of vines and cannabis plant
- Hibiscus
- Brown-eyed Susan
- Bluebonnets
- Mayhaw berries
- Cactus
- Pine cones
- Blue-eyed grass
- Blackfoot daisy
- Texas thistle
- Sage
- Wild mushrooms

For the FRONT LABEL illustration, I researched all the flora/fauna as requested, then illustrated this on Procreate, later transferring it to Adobe Illustrator in order to vectorize the illustrations. I started with a preliminary sketch to ensure everything was placed where I wanted it, then colored over it with a watercolor pen, finally adding the pale highlight outline illustration to unify all the parts.
I free-handed, then polished the design for the "Lifted Gummies" logotype, mimicking the "old western antique" style and coloring the band behind the "peach" text to represent the flavor of the gummies.

From my research and knowledge gained from being a native Austinite, I chose the nine-banded armadillo to be the unique "cut-out" window portion of the baggie design, as nine-banded armadillo is the official Small State Mammal of Texas.
FINALIZED DESIGN - They ended up deciding against the armadillo window, but greenlit the rest of the design:

CALYX CONTAINERS
Calyx Containers is a team of engineers and designers who set out to transform cannabis packaging by combining innovative materials, airtight engineering, and a customer-first mindset. Their containers go beyond compliance; they preserve potency, extend shelf life, and showcase the flower or concentrate exactly as it was meant to be experienced. They believe the cannabis industry deserves packaging that elevates, not compromises. From child-resistant technology to sustainable materials and designs that stand out on the shelf, they're here to support client success and help normalize cannabis through quality, trust, and consistency.
I was provided the "25D" 4-Panel dieline, along with the project's specific parameters (ukiyo-e style waves, a small island with a treasure chest on top, and light/transparent rays coming from the chest). With this info, I drew up an initial sketch mockup:

- Illustrated on Procreate, then brought into Adobe Illustrator to vectorize
- Used Illustrator's Pantone 8402C Metallic swatch for the lines of the waves
- Used the default CMYK gray for the shading on the waves themselves (as that color was going to be changed later)
Received feedback from the client, so made adjustments on the styling of the waves and angle of the treasure chest. Tweaked and polished the design until it was uniform, and then submitted the second mockup to the client:

Client accepted the design, so I finalized it by vectorizing the illustrations, going in-depth through each curve and making polishing adjustments as necessary, and prepared the file for package print.
